Why the change?

Janus served hotels and hospitality venues for many years as a reliable digital signage and guest engagement solution. Unfortunately, Janus relies on legacy technologies and third-party components that are no longer supported or are being discontinued by their providers. These include outdated operating systems, Adobe Flash-related components and older security protocols that no longer meet today’s security standards.

As these technologies reach the end of their own lifecycles, we can no longer guarantee the ongoing reliability, security or operation of Janus. As a result, Janus will reach End of Life on March 31, 2027.

Janus will officially reach End of Life (EOL) on March 31, 2027. After this date, the platform will no longer be supported by Uniguest. We encourage all customers to begin planning their migration to Uniguest Hub well before this deadline to ensure a smooth transition.

What does “End of Life” mean?

After March 31, 2027, Janus will no longer be supported.

This means:

No software updates
No security enhancements
No new features
Limited ability to resolve issues caused by unsupported third-party technologies
Increased operational and security risk as legacy components continue to be retired

While existing deployments may continue operating for a period of time, Uniguest cannot guarantee the continued reliability, compatibility or security of the platform after End of Life.

Why is Janus being retired?

Janus relies on legacy technologies and third-party components that are no longer supported, including outdated operating systems, Internet Explorer 11, Adobe Flash-related components and older security protocols. As these technologies have reached the end of their own lifecycles, we can no longer guarantee the reliability, security or continued operation of the platform.
